María Laura Villamayor

Laura is a recognized specialist in Seed Legislation, Intellectual Property protection and International Relations. Having joined the National Seed Institute (INASE) in 2000, Laura has become INASE Coordinator in 2017. In this position, she is Argentina’s delegate at UPOV, FAO and other international bodies. On the national level, she represents INASE at Commissions at the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, the Ministry of Agriculture, as well as the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries.
Laura holds a graduate degree in Law and a postgraduate degree in Intellectual Property Rights from the University of Buenos Aires. Following her interest in plant genetics, Laura also took a Postgraduate Course on Conservation and Use of Plant Genetic Resources. Currently, she is adding a Master in International Strategy and Politics at the Maimonides University in Buenos Aires to her academic record. Laura is an author of several publications on PBR and plant genetics.
